100% Royal Slope 100% Grenache

A blend of own-rooted Grenache from Stillwater Creek vineyard (planted 2004) and Lawrence vineyards Corfu Crossing (planted 2008). Individually hand-picked, destemmed and fermented in open top bins, each pressed at dryness, free run and press wine combined, raised in neutral French oak barrels. Bottled without fining or filtration in the summer of 2023 under TCA free corks in American-made glass.

2022 Orr Royal Slope Grenache - Pale ruby in colour. Ripe red strawberries macerated with rose hips and orange peel. The palate is ripe and jammy but with plenty of acidity. Warming with powder-fine tannins and a lingering sweet fruit character. I enjoy how much this wine shouts New World, warm-climate Grenache. It's bumptious and very much itself – incredibly charming.
